What is the Extractor?

What is it?

The Extractor allows you to get data from the web with no coding required. You don’t even have to download anything, it’s web-based! All you need to know is what data you want and where it is, it really is that simple.

How does it work?

You give the Extractor an example of a URL that contains the data you want to extract, this could be a single item page, or a multiple item page.

Once your URL is loaded within the Extractor, you simply click on the webpage to select the data you want and organise it into a column structure that suits you.

When you are selecting the data you want, you are effectively teaching the Extractor the underlying structure of the webpage and where certain elements of data live on the page. This means that when you feed it more URLs with the same underlying structure, the Extractor automatically knows what to get and where to get it from.

Creating the Extractor is just the start. Once you have saved the Extractor you can perform more actions including adding multiple URLs to get large volumes of data, scheduling your extraction to run on a regular basis, and downloading your data in CSV or JSON format.

You can also query your Extractor via the API. Find out more.

OK let's do it, take me to the Extractor!

Sounds great, tell me how!
